UMEA GAMES: Kawanda SS to host the 8th edition, two sporting activities added.

All is set as Kawanda Secondary School will host the eighth edition of Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) games from the 9th – 13th April 2020. Woodball and Basketball have been added as announced in a press conference held at Kawanda SS on Tuesday 11th February 2020.

The 8th edition of the UMEA games is aimed at creating a unity and stable understanding among the Muslim community, students and the society under the theme “Nature conservation”. This will include a long tree planting process in areas of Kawanda.

This is the third time Kawanda Secondary School will host the UMEA games after successfully hosting in 2005 and 2011.

We are more than ready to host the 2020 UMEA games. Accommodation, feeding and security have all been worked upon.”

.We have two play grounds inside the school and as the hosts we want to challenge for the overall trophy.

Kawanda SS will also use Namalere research center playground,  Mbogo mixed SS ground, Kiteezi play ground, Kawempe Muslim SS play grounds and the Kabaka Kyabagu sports stadium to cater for all the activities.

The addition of woodball and Basketball has made eight sporting activities whereby the General Secretary UMEA games expects more schools to participate in all the activities.

The eight activities are football, netball, Table Tennis, Badminton,  woodball, Basketball, Handball and Volleyball.

We expect more teams to register for this years’ championship in all the eight activities as we look forward to tap each and every talent available.
