Uganda slips in latest FIFA World Rankings

The Uganda national football teams, The Cranes has slipped in the latest Federation of International Football Association ( FIFA) rankings for the month of March 2022.

From 84th in the last rankings made by FIFA in February, Uganda has dropped two places to 86th.

This is due to their poor show in the Navruz Cup in Uzbekistan where they failed to win any game. They drew 1-1 with Tajikistan before losing to hosts Uzbekistan 4-2 in the final played early this week.

The Micho’s coached side though, remajn 18th in Africa and the best ranked in the CECAFA region.

Kenya is 104th, Sudan 132nd, Tanzania 130st, Rwanda 136th, Burundi 139th, Ethiopia 140th South Sudan 161st, Djibouti 194th, Somalia 202nd while Eritrea are the least ranked in East Africa in 204th position.

Meanwhile, Senegal remains the best ranked country in Africa in the 20th position with 1584.16points.

In the world, Brazil has finally leapfrogged Belgium as the best country in the whole world.

France, Argentina, England, Italy, Spain. Portugal, Mexico and Netherlands follow in that order to make up the top 10 in the world.

The next rankings will be published by FIFA on 23rd June 2022.
