Uganda rise one place in latest FIFA World Rankings


Uganda has moved up a place in the latest FIFA World Men’s Rankings for the month of October.

The Cranes, who were ranked 90th in the World in the ranking released in August, rise to 89th.

The rise in the rankings is largely due to the two wins the Cranes garnered against Tanzania in the 2023 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers .

Micho’s boys beat Tanzania 1-0 away from home before finishing the job at home 3-0 to qualify for the CHAN finals slated in Morocco next year.

Amongst the African countries, Uganda is now up to 18th and remain the best ranked in CECAFA region followed by Kenya (101)

Meanwhile, Brazil remain the number one ranked side in the world, followed by Belgium, Argentina, France, England in the top five.

Italy has move one place up to 6th, displacing Spain while Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark round up the top 10.
