Uganda Premier League clubs with the longest opening-day unbeaten run since 2000

As footballing activities around the world are on a standstill due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,  http://www.thetouchlinesports.com Ronald Yiga brings you a list of Uganda Football clubs with the longest opening-day unbeaten run since 2000.

KCCA FC and URA FC holds the longest opening-day unbeaten run both balanced on 12 seasons.

KCCA FC has not lost any opening day match since 3rd November 2007 when they fell 1-0 to Victors FC (now defuct) thank to Ronald Lutaaya lone strike in the 80th minute. In a season which the Kasasiro Boys went on to lift the Uganda Premier league trophy with 74-points just five points ahead of SC Villa.

URA FC is another powerhouse that has not lost any opening day match since a 1-0 defeat to Kinyara FC (now defect) on 4th November 2007 from Hussein Mbalangu’s lone strike in the 61st minute. The Tax Collectors went on to finish 4th that season with 52-points.

Vipers SC and BUL FC are both tied up on eight seasons

Vipers SC last lost a league opener in the Entebbe Road Derby against Entebbe FC on 25th September 2012 in a 2-1 defeat at home in a season they finished 3rd with 51-points.

BUL FC last lost a season opener on 9th September 2012 eight years ago. The Jinja based suffered a 2-0 home defeat to SC Villa in a season they finished 7th on the log with 43-points
