Uganda Cup: SC Villa storms Round of 32 with a victory over Super Eagles – summary of Thursday matches


SC Villa beat Super Eagles to storm the Uganda Cup Round of 32 with a flawless 4-1 victory over the Super Eagles on Thursday evening at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

Villa scored through David Owori and Bashir Mutanda in the first half  while Ronald Magwali and Salim Abdallah scored the other two in the second to send the Jogoos to the round of 32. Allan Odiya pulled one back for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Maroons FC shot-out Young Elephants FC 4-1 after a goalless draw in normal time at Olwio St Mark Ground in Nywoya.

Bright Stars FC also progressed after eliminating Koboko Rising Stars thanks to James Angu’s lone strike

In Bushenyi, Big League side Kitara FC made it to the next round on penalties 4-2 after a 1-all draw in normal time with Six O’clock FC.

Kiboga Young FC also progressed to the next round after shooting out Ggaba FC on 3-1 via spot-kicks after a goalless draw in normal play

SC Villa, Bright Stars, Kitara, and Kiboga Young join Kajjansi United, who eliminated Vipers SC among others at the Round of the 32
