Uganda Corporate League: 22nd edition kicks off with moderate turn up

Battle for cars at the Uganda Corporate League 22nd edition kicked off at Makerere University Kampala Sports Grounds on Sunday.

With a moderate turn up on day One, Football took centre stage, Lubaga Hospital taking the bragging rights after humbling MK Sports Club, Equity Bank, UCDA and Hotel Africana.

Favoured by the weather conditions, an attractive playing surface made it smooth for the corporate to enjoy the day with different drinks available and Sunday music.

A thankful David Agaba Awilo and competitions manager of the Uganda Corporate League called upon the companies to register in time;

“Rained disturbed us this morning but we thank God the weather came back to order”

“I would like to thank the 15 companies their heads and Captains that came today we initially had prepared to start in April but decided to start this month (March)”

“So next month I expect around 35 companies and we shall more games to the menu. Some companies communicated and said their budget pass and so couldn’t make to the games”

“On that note I would like the companies that are to come to confirm in time inorder to budget appropriately and make the fixtures.”

During the games had a chat with Katerega Charles a captain to Post Bank who said he expects a lot from the games;

“So far day one hasn’t been too bad, we managed to win one game and drawn the other so we are hoping for better in the next games” he said

Adding that; “We are expecting a lot, have great players and expecting to win the Championship this year”

“My Cry to the management is to increase the number of Adverts to call on more companies to engage in the League” he concluded

Uganda Corporate League always happens every last Sunday of the month and therefore will return on Sunday 28th April 2024.
