Uganda Boxing Champions League week 11 attracted huge numbers into the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Saturday 12th October 2024 to witness Boxing progress in Uganda under the Corporate boxing agenda.

Full packed Lugogo Indoor Arena.
In this there was a corporate bout between socialite Shakib Lutaaya and Legendary TV personality JK Kazoora. The two boxed off with at most respect and fair play but Kazoora exhibited better punching skill.

Late on, it was evident that Uganda Boxing Federation had saved the best for last as Rackara Paul and Reagan Magumba prepared to take on each other in a Light Welter weight Elite 63.5 kgs fight after good displays in the League so far.
Rackara exhibited his exceptional traditional ring entry like always while the Unruly Magumba came along with his top boss of the Unruly Fagone Forest, Muscian Alien Skin to boast his entrance.
Immediately settling down the calm the bout boxed off with punches flying from both sides, some were misses floating onto the sides and others were on the skin with Magumba throwing a few straight ones with rapid motion to put Rackara onto the floor.

Action during the bout.
In the same way, Rackara too, had his time where he threw punches that put Magumba into balance on the ring rope before the bell was rang to single the end of the First round.
However at the break is when it was visible that Magumba attained a cut on his eye brow but not many had noticed including the judge or doctor till then.
After receiving some treatment during the break, both boxers returned for the second round in same boxing style with power and speed but Magumba started bleeding again something that forced the referee to pause the bout so that he can receive treatment.
During that time, the individuals near the doctor declared that he asked Magumba to stop fighting citing that the cut was going to get deeper incase of his punched or anything similar, an act he didn’t accept.
The Lukanga boxer returned to the four cornered ring and continued with some consistent boxing but in an action that many of the skilled boxer’s fans deemed deliberate, Rackara laid his head onto Magumba’s nose and rubbed it upwards into the wound.
This increased the blood flow in Magumba’s face with Referee pausing bout for second time in round two for treatment but after a few minutes, fight was stopped – Question coming up was by who?
But before the bout was officially stopped, the referee was seen singling for a cut of points off Rackara, which not anyone was sure if it was taken into consideration.
From here is where the confusion started, some individuals citing it was the doctor others referee but at the end of it all Rackara was announced as the winner which was not good news to Magumba’s camp most especially his coaches who labeled this as UN FAIRNESS in two consecutive bouts.
“This is unfair last time we contained ourselves but now its too I think its time our boxer goes professional” one of Magumba’s coaches aka Germany coach said
After the storm had calm down, had a chat with Mr Mugaga Moses one of the Judges who took his time to explain the rules;
“If the fight is stopped due to a minor injury and the boxer receives treatment accompanied with advise by doctor to stop and he accepts, we as judges too have no option but to accept and we get to calculate the points.” he started
“But if he decides to continue and his hit again to worse and Referee or Doctor stops it and we get to ask the Referee was the injury because of a punch if YES we award it to the one who punched.” he continued
“And in this instance depending on the rule I think everything is clear” Mugaga added
However when asked who stopped the fight he also seemed unclear if it was the doctor or Referee before later on sticking onto the doctor.
In the other fights of the evening, Mutajjazi’s Kemis Ibrahim beat Police’s Nasasira Shafic to continue his fine ride in this season three. The two who know themselves so well come from the same area in Kibuli but there had to to be a winner on the night.
