- Uganda Vs Ethiopia – Azam Stadium 6pm
The defending Champions of the U20 TotalEnergies AFCON Zonal Qualifiers, Uganda Hippos will kick off their title defence on Monday evening.
Uganda will take on Ethiopia in Group B clash at the Azam Complex in search of victory under a new generation of young players lead by Head coach Mathias Lule.
With at most confidence, Lule up-hails his side as one of the best, laying on the team’s preparedness with no injury concerns going on to call Ugandans to rally behind the team.
Team Captain Toto Majub, came out to announce that the only thing remaining is for the players to deliver;
“What is left is for us players to hit the pitch and deliver,” Majub stated
“We have had excellent training from the technical team, both here and back home in our residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru” he added
The other Group B game will see South Sudan take on Burundi earlier in the day at the KMC Stadium.
Only the top two teams from the group stage will qualify for the tournament semifinals and both finalists will secure a spot in the U20 AFCON final tournament.
