Bright Stars move out of the SUPL relegation zone after registering a 3-0 win against Busoga United at Kavumba Recreational play grounds on Wednesday evening.
Ronald Sempala, Jamil Kaliisa and Joseph Janjali scored for Bright stars as they defeated Busoga United to their second loss in the second round of the league.
In the 24th minute, Ronald Ssempala put the ball into the back of the net after brilliant work by new signing Muwadda Mawejje to hand the hosts the games lead.
Despite Busoga United trying their level best to tie the scores, the game went into the break with a goals’ lead for Bright Stars FC.
Jamil Kalisa doubled the scores for the hosts in the 77th minute after dribbling past Busoga’s Omedwa to put the ball into an empty net.
7 minutes to the death of the games, youngster Joseph Jjajali added salt to Busoga’s wounds ,netting Bright Stars’ third goal of the game.
The win moves Bright Stars three places up above the relegation line and sit in 11th position with 23points. Busoga United drop one place to the 7th position due to goal difference and replaced by Onduparaka in the 6th position both on 30 points.
Bright stars will visit Police in their next UPL fixture whereas Busoga will host URA FC on match day 22.
Tooro register first win in second round
Tooro United registered their first win in the second round after a 2-1 win against Wakiso giants in a match played at St. Henry’s play grounds Fortportal.
Yafesi Mubiru scored a brace for Mohammed Kiseka’s side in the second half of the game as Amos Muwonge bagged a consolation for the visitors.
Tooro United is now on 19 points but remains in the 15th position despite a 2-1 win against Wakiso Giants who are now placed in the 9th position with 25 points.
