Yunus Sentamu’s late second half strike earned the defending champions, Vipers SC a precious 1-0 victory a resilent BUL FC to tighten up their grip atop of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league log on Tuesday evening at the St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Fred Kajoba’s side huffed and puffed for almost the whole game until upto just six minutes from time when Sentamu headed home the winning goal.
The January recruit who came into the game having scored four times in three games was set up by Paul Mucurezi who had replaced Jamil Kalisa at the start of the second half.
With the win today, Vipers remain top of the log with 21 points and have now won all their game played at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Meanwhile BUL, who have now three games in a row sit 13th on the log with just seven points from nine games, 2 above the relegation line.
Elsewhere,Wakiso Giants once again played out to a 1-all draw against KCCA FC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso. Rahmat Ssenfuka’s strike at almost the halftime break cancelled out Andrew Kigozi’s exquisite goal.
While Godfrey Lwesibawa and George Ssenkaaba both banged braces at the King George Stadium, Tororo as their Express FC side thrashed Malaba Youth Development Association ( MYDA) FC 4-1 to send the Red Eagles second on the log.
In Njeru, SC Villa winless streak against Busoga United continued as they drew 1-all at the FUFA Technical Center. Busoga’s Douglas Muganga broke the deadlock before Isaac Ogwang equalised quickly after.
