StarTimes UPL: why Kisala was not on touchline against MYDA

UPDF FC head coach Kefa Kisala was not seen on the touchline when his side drew 1-all with Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at the Bombo Military Playgrounds on Tuesday evening.

According to our reliable sources, Kisala was suspended by the club for two games for poor performance after his side suffered a humiliation loss to Wakiso Giants last week at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso. The Army side lost 5-1 to the Purple Sharks.

After that game, Kisala was told to step aside for two games and the team was handed to his assistant, Ssaka Mpiima to temporarily be in charge.

It’s left to be seen if the former Wakiso Giants and Express tactician will be back on the touchline after serving his two-game suspension when UPDF hosts KCCA FC on Wednesday next week.

UPDF, who once led the StarTimes UPL standings now sit seventh, with just a win in the last five games while they were also eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Vipers SC at the Round of 16 level.
