StarTimes UPL: Vipers aim for second successive victory as they host Arua Hill

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC will be seeking for their second successive victory for the first time this season when they host Arua Hill at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

The Venoms picked up a vital hard-fought 1-0 victory over Blacks Power in their last game to return to winning ways and consequently secure their second overall victory of the campaign.

With that victory, they now sit 8th on the log with 8 points garnered in 5 games and will be hoping for a victory over the Kongolo as they seek to close on the gap atop.

Arua Hill, meanwhile sit sixth on the log with 10 points and could be surpassed by the Venoms if they lose.

They suffered their first league loss via the weekend at the hands of URA FC who defeated them 1-0 at the Nakisunga Ssaza ground, Mukono.

Before that, they had defeated KCCA,UPDF and Maroons FC, all at home and drew with Blacks Power on the road.

Vipers and Arua Hill have only met twice in league since the Kongolo were promoted to Uganda’s top flight last season

The Arua-based side won the first leg 1-0 courtesy of Alfred Leku early goal before the Venoms took the second 3-1 with Yunus Sentamu, Ceasar Manzoki and Milton Karisa all finding the back of the net.

The Venoms will welcome back Bright Anukani, who has missed the club’s last two games but will still be without Paul Mucureezi and Abdu Lumala.
