Wakiso Giants host URA this Tuesday afternoon, February 15th, at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso, in what will be Matchday 18 of the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

This fixtures presents the Purple Sharks with a great chance to redeem themselves from the loss they encountered in Jinja as they look for their sixth home win of the season. The most recent came in satisfactory measures against Gaddafi FC

Alex Gitta wants his charges, positioned 7th with 27 points to extend the good run against the Tax Collectors and also improve their slot on the standings.

“They are an experienced team with a very experienced coaching staff and we respect them but we have to neutralize them for a win,” said Gitta.

“We also believe in the fact that we have never lost to them and want that run to continue,” he added.

Meanwhile, the tax collectors approach the game with a desire to win their first game against the Purple Sharks and make more amends after gunning down Gadaffi FC at home in their most recent fixture.

Winning the game will surely be a desire they ponder in order to close the eight point gap between them and leaders Vipers SC.

They won their last league match against Gadaffi at home after a late minute winner by substitute Brian Nkuubi after Ibrahim Dada had opened up the scoring minutes later to be canceled out by Bate Seif.

Steven Mukwala will be the player to watch out for in the URA attack as well as Viane Ssekajugo who returns to Wakisha for the first time since leaving the the Wakiso based side.

URA sit 3rd on the StarTimes UPL log with 31 points out of 17 games just behind an out of form KCCA FC.

In the first round game between the two sides, it ended in stalemate after Cromwell Rwothomio’s second half strike canceled out by Simon Namwanja’s opener.

Team News

The Tax Collectors will still be without injured Rwothomio, Jackson Nunda and leftback Derrick Ndahiro who is away with Team Fundi just like Wakiso Giants’ Derrick Emukule.

Meanwhile, the Purple Sharks will also miss Titus Ssematimba through sickness and Simon Namwanja has a knock while skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo and defender Edward Satulo are doubtful.
