NEC Football Club prepare to face Arua Hill, their determination to break free from a winless streak in the last four games looms large.

The Lugogo based side will strive for resurgence at Philp Omondi Stadium in the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

The recent string of results for NEC has been mixed, including two draws (1-1 with Bul FC and 0-0 with Bright Stars FC) along with two losses (5-2 against Express FC and a recent 4-0 defeat to Vipers in their last outing).

Coach Husein Mbalangu, reflecting on the team’s performance, admitted to a lackluster first half against Vipers, despite a promising 1-1 halftime score.

He acknowledged defensive shortcomings both individually and collectively within the team, emphasizing the need for improvement.

Encouragingly, the coach expressed faith in his defense, citing their seven clean sheets and assuring that necessary adjustments have been made for the upcoming game against Arua Hill.

Emotions run high for Mbalangu, having previously promoted Arua Hill to the top flight unbeaten in the FUFA Big League.

However, he’s now solely focused on securing three points for NEC FC, especially after their recent struggles in clinching wins.

For NEC FC, a team that started the league with an away win against Mbarara City, finishing the first round with a home victory is deemed crucial to bolster their standing.

Mbalangu’s sights are set higher, aiming for a finish between 3rd and 5th position in the league standings, steering clear of a 7th place outcome.

However, NEC FC faces some setbacks with injuries and the absence of Rashid Okocha due to accumulated yellow cards for the upcoming game against Arua Hill.

NEC FC forward, Kiberu Tonny, assured fans of the team’s recovery from recent setbacks, affirming a positive atmosphere within the camp and expressing the team’s determination to perform well, secure a victory, and bring joy to their supporters.

On the flip side, Arua Hill enters the match after a solitary victory against UPDF and two draws in their last fourteen encounters.

The team is reeling from a recent 1-0 home loss to Express FC and currently occupies the bottom spot on the table with a mere 5 points from 14 games.

The clash between NEC FC and struggling Arua Hill promises an intense battle as both teams strive to set a new course in their respective league campaigns.
