NEC FC, making their debut in the top flight, currently holds the 7th position with 27 points, while Mbarara City FC, returning to the premier league, sits in the 11th position with 20 points, both teams having played 16 matches.

In recent displays of prowess, Mbarara City FC secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Express FC at their home ground, Kakyeka Stadium, while NEC FC clinched a hard-fought 3-2 win against Busoga United FC away from home at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Jinja.

Their previous encounter on the opening day of this season saw NEC edge out Mbarara City with a solitary goal courtesy of Joseph Dhata’s strike in the 51st minute.

Adding to the anticipation, NEC FC’s recent acquisition, Gadafi Wahab, formerly with Arua Hill, is poised to make his debut, expressing determination to contribute his best to the team.

Despite tactical differences from his previous club, Wahab remains confident that the midfield cohesion will not be affected.

Coach Hussein Mbalangu, buoyed by the team’s performance in the first game of the second round against Busoga United, is optimistic about his squad’s dedication and hard work.

With the return of Ssebagala Enock and Gadafi Wahab from suspension, NEC FC boasts a strengthened lineup for the encounter.

As two teams in fine form collide, the stage is set for an electrifying and memorable encounter that promises to captivate football enthusiasts.
