Goals by Julius Poloto and Sam Ssenyonjo were enough for KCCA to secure a 2-0 victory over Kyetume FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier league game played at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday.

Poloto struck midway the opening half while Ssenyonjo was on hand to tap home in the second period to earn his side all three points .

KCCA were by far the better side of the game but struggled to create enough clearcut chances most especially in first half .

They broke the deadlock in the 21st when Poloto headed in a Gift Ali cross at the far post to give his side a well deserved lead from almost their first realistic attempt on target.

Just before the break, Sam Ssenyonjo had a chance to double the scoreline but he sailed his effort over the crossbar.

The game went into the break with the Kasasiro Boys holding a 1-0 lead over the Slaughterers.

Moments after the break, Kyetume almost levelled matters but Nicholas Kasozi’s free kick went wide.

KCCA then got a second of the game from a moment of brilliance from Sam Ssenyonjo, who beat off his marker to launch a thunderbolt from outside the box past Derrick Were and into the back of the net in the 65th minute.

With today’s win, KCCA have returned to winning ways, having been winless in the last three games and now retain their fourth place from Soltilo Bright Stars, who had occupied it after Tuesday’s win against BUL.

While Kyetume woes continues as they not sit 14th on the log with 20 points garnered in 24 games , six adrift of safety.

KCCA play UPDF next in the league while Kyetume will be up against log leaders URA FC.
