StarTimes UPL: Orit strikes Vipers past Tax Collectors


Forward Ibrahim Orit scored the only goal for Vipers SC as they overcame URA FC in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played on Saturday evening.

Orit’s goal came in the 70th minute as his deflected shot beat Nafian Alionzi in the URA goal to help Vipers secured maximum points.

But URA were the better side of goal but failed to put the ball into the back of the net.

Kabon Living shot high and wide after coming one on one with Alfred Mudekereza in the early minutes of the goal while also Derrick Ndahiro also missed the target on rebound after an initial Jackson Nunda’s shot was spilled back into play by Mudekereza.

In the later exchanges of the game, URA almost levelled matters but Saidi Kyeyune got denied by the crossbar with Mudekereza well beaten by the strike.

Apart from Orit’s strike, Vipers struggled to create enough meaningful chance Infront of the Tax Collectors goal.

With the victory, the Venoms move to 17 points in Eight games and now sit third on the log.

For URA, they remain ninth on 10 points in nine games.

Vipers will play SC Villa next while URA FC will battle Maroons.
