Startimes UPL: Onduparaka ready to face SC Villa in Bombo


Sixteen-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa will look to maintain their great start as they visit Onduparaka FC at the Bombo Military Grounds on Friday evening.

The Jogoos head into this game with a win in their opening game of this season after they beat Wasswa Bbosa’s Gaddafi Modern FC at home 2-0 last weekend with goals from Gift Fred and Charles Baale.

Their Opponents, Onduparaka FC were away in their last league fixture and directly matched URA FC playing out a 0-0.

The Caterpillars sit bottom of the table with – 1 point while the Jogoos lie 3rd on the StarTimes Uganda Premier league log with 3 points in one game.

Note that Onduparaka FC will play the game without fans, a decision that was decided by the FUFA disciplinary Committee.

Victory for SC Villa against Onduparaka would take them top of the log with maximum points with a good goal difference the Caterpillars as they would get to 22 points.

Onduparaka FC, Okocha Rashid will need late fitness late however midfielder Gadaffi Gadinho, Abonga Dominic, Munir Saidi, John Rogers are all available for selection after missing the first game.

For SC Villa head coach Jackson Magera will be bolstered by the timely return goal keeper Meddie Kibirige after his return from 2022 Hollywood COSAFA championship in South Africa but no yet known if he will be involved in the match day squad.

Rogers Kiwanuka, Umar Lutalo and Tabu Oryem are all not available due to injuries.
