Ibrahim Nsimbe netted a late equaliser for BUL FC as they shared spoils with relegation placed Mbarara City at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara on Monday.

Solomon Okwaliga put the Ankole Lions just ahead before the break, but 10 minutes before time, Nsimbe levelled matters for the game to end 1-all and extend the Ankole Lion’s winless run to 13.

The Ankole Lions last won a StarTimes Uganda Premier League last year- a 3-2 victory over Onduparaka in December at Kakyeka Stadium.

To this game, Mbarara City started off the game brightest and several chances to break the deadlock but failed to capitalise.

Henry Kitegenyi and Frank Kalule fired wide while Sadat Nsubuga had his effort brilliant saved by Emmanuel Kalyowa.

The opening goal came in the 45th after Okwalinga rose highest to head in a well driven Steven Othieno cross and hand his side the lead at halftime.

At the restart, Mbarara City got a glorious chance to double their lead but substitute Seire Arigumaho wasted it after being set up by Kitegenyi.

BUL first realistic chance at the Mbarara’s goal came just after the hour mark, but Nsimbe agonizingly guided his tap-in wide.

But Nsimbe made up for that miss with a goal in the 80th minutes to level matters for his side.

With two points dropped again, Mbarara City remain second bottom on the log with 19 points in 23 games. They are three points below the survival line.

With a point garnered, BUL stay fourth with 38 points in 23 games.
