Right-back Ashraf Mandela scored a second half penalty to help his side, Vipers SC earn a hard-fought victory over Blacks Power in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at Aki Bua Memorial Stadium, Lira on Friday.
Mandela’s penalty came in the 72nd minute after Blacks Power’s John Paul Acire handed the ball in area while trying to block a shot. The Vipers right back stepped up and sent in a ferocious kick.

Yunus Sentamu had Vipers’ two best attempts before they scored. He first had his shot saved by Emmanuel Odongo from pinpoint range before he missed the target from the far post following Cromwell Rwothomio’s brilliant delivery.
1-0 it ended and Vipers have secured their first away victory of the season after picking up only a point in their first two on the road. The Venoms now move to eight place on the log with eight points.
