Second placed KCCA will be seeking to close on Leader Vipers SC when they visit Kakyeka Stadium to take on Mbarara City on Sunday afternoon.

After Vipers 3-1 victory on Saturday, the Kasasiro Boys are currently four points below the Venoms, but have to trim the difference back to one point if they can take care of Mbarara City.

They come into this game on a back of a 1-0 victory over URA FC in their last league game, but are winless in their last four league away games (losing to URA FC and drawing to Vipers, Villa and Onduparaka).

They face a Mbarara city side that has struggled for results this season and currently sit 13th on the log with just 15 points in 16 games.

Despite having not won away from home, Mbarara City has four victories at Kakyeka Stadium that include beating Villa, Arua Hill, Onduparaka and Soltilo Bright Stars.

But they are winless in their last six games, drawing twice and losing four times.

Mbarara City is one of KCCA FC’s boggy side; In fact, the Kasasiro Boys have won four times in all the nine meetings in the league between the two sides.

This season in the first leg, Hebert Achai’s lone strike outside the 18 yard box helped KCCA FC overcome Mbarara City at Lugogo.

Brian Aheebwa and Innocent Wafula will be pointing guns at former bosses (Mbarara City) if they are selected to play by head coach Morley Byekwaso.

Team News

KCCA will be without Julius Poloto, Sadat Anaku and Mwirusi Ali who flew out of the country and are currently involved in talent exhibition matches in Spain.

Dominic Ayella is also away due to school commitments while also Peter Magambo is set out due to an injury. Dennis Iguma will also miss the game due to a hamstring injury sustained in the game against Onduparaka FC on 3rd February 2022.

Wasswa Emmanuel, Wasswa Geofrey and Kayanja Brian remain long term absentees for KCCA as the trio underwent surgery and are undergoing rehabilitation.

Meanwhile Mbarara City’s Captain Swelik Bebe is a doubt for this game after he got an injury in their previous game against Busoga United in Kakindu.

But, Karim Ramathan who also got a knock will be back in the squad for selection.
