Stanbic Uganda Cup : Vipers SC welcome Mbarara City with sights set on final.

Vipers SC set eyes on a second successive Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup final as they welcome Mbarara City FC in the second leg of their semi-final at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

The defending champions welcome the Ankole lions with a 2-1 positive edge that they collected last week in the first leg at Kakyeka Stadium.

Apart from the result in Mbarara, Vipers coach Roberto Oliviera will be boosted by the Pilsner Coach of the Month Award that he won for the third time this season.

Speaking to the media on Monday Oliveira came out to warn his team about the visitors after they put 8 past Tooro United.

Mbarara City is a strong team and that was seen with the way they played a week ago and the way they usually play whenever they play against Vipers

We have been a consistent team throughout the season and as well, we hold the advantage after winning the game played last week.

We won this trophy last season and that motivates us more to do whatever we can to defend it.

On the other hand Mbarara City head coach Sadiq Ssempigi who is always confident, believes that his team can over turn this game gadged on their first leg display in the rain.

From the way we played in the first leg, I believe we were the better side even though we lost the game. Our display on the pitch was impressive and it is the same spirit that we have carried with us ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Everyone is determined and we all believe that it is still very much possible to win this game and make it to the final.

The better team on aggregate will move straight onto the final stage to await the winner in the 2nd Semi final between BUL FC and Booma FC,  where the Eastern Giants hold a 5-1 lead.

Last result.

In the first leg, Paul Mucureezi and Milton Karisa scored the goals late in the first half for the visitors who are chasing a historic double after winning the league.
