Ibrahim Nsimbe netted deep in Extra time as BUL FC eliminated SC Villa from this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Nsimbe strike came in the 115th minute of the game after the scores were tied at 1-all after 90 minutes to force extra time.

Despite an interesting 90 minutes, the game went into extra time with the scores 1-all.

Saddam Masereka netted for the Jogoos in the 16th minutes while Karim Ndugwa equalised for BUL FC after the half-hour mark.

Masereka’s goal came from poor goalkeeping from Emmanuel Kalyowa who failed to collect an easy shot. Karim headed in a well driven George Kasonko cross past Martin Ssenkoto.

Villa had several chances before and after they scored their opener but failed to capitalize. Masereka had his shot saved by Emmanuel Kalyowa in the 14th minute while Benson Muhindo missed an easy tap in at the back post after a brilliant pass by Sadaam Juma midway the opening half.

Before the first half break, Juma was granted a chance to restore parity for Villa from the spot after Masereka was fouled in the box by Ivan Wani, but Juma blazed his kick over the crossbar.

BUL’s other chances in the opening half fell to Kasonko, who had his powerful shot parried away by Ssenkoto.

BUL had a man sent off in the 66th minute as Kasonko received his matching orders for a second cautious offense on Masereka.

With the numerical advantage, Villa almost took the lead in the 76th minutes but Kalyowa made a brilliant save to deny Isaac Ogwang, who was set up by Muhindo.

Villa had another chance to win the game at almost the death of the game but Kalyowa did brilliant to parry away Umar Lutalo’s ferocious strike.

Nothing could separate the two sides at the end of the 90 so the game went into extra time.

With just four minutes left on the clock in extra time, BUL won the game through late Ibrahim Nsimbe’s header from a well crafted Umar Makobe cross.

BUL now joins Vipers and Booma United in the semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Mike Mutebi and Jackson Mayanja part ways with As Kigali.
