Stanbic Uganda Cup draw: Vipers play Villa, KCCA battle Express

Vipers SC have been drawn against SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter-finals while KCCA will be facing Express.

This was confirmed after the draws held on Tuesday morning at the FUFA House in Mengo.

To reach the quarter-finals, Vipers eliminated UPDF 4-2 on aggregate to reach the quarters this time round while Villa edged past Onduparaka 1-0 in two legs.

After beating URA 2-1 on aggregate in the last 16, Express FC will take on joint record winners KCCA, who beat Maroons in the previous round to progress.

KCCA FC and Express FC are joint record winners with 10 titles, while SC Villa has nine to their name.

Meanwhile, defender Proline FC will take on the winner between Kigezi HomeBoys and BUL while it’s will be Abdullah Mubiru versus Douglas Bamweyana as Police takes on Wakiso Giants.

The quarter-finals ties will be played home and away with the two legs matches to be played between 25th  May and 2nd June 2021.

The winner of the competition represents Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup, the second most prestigious tournament in African club football.

This year will see the prize money increased from Shs. 132 to Shs. 166m with the winner pocketing 50m while the runners up will go with Shs. 20m each.
