SC Villa will aim to snap their winless run in the 2020-21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League when they visit Onduparaka FC at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Arua on Tuesday.
The Jogoos extended their win drought to six matches in the league when they were held a goalless by Soltilo Bright Stars in Bombo on Saturday.
SC Villa has claimed 14 points from 11 away matches this season, though their last result as visitors was a 2-1 loss to Mbarara City in April.
On the other hand, Onduparaka is also winless in five league outings and now sits a place above the relegation zone with 24 points in 22 games.
The Caterpillars’ last result at home was a 1-0 loss to KCCA FC on April 25th. They have garnered 12 points from 11 home games.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides in less than a week as the 16-time champions eliminated the Caterpillars from the Stanbic Uganda Cup after a 1-0 aggregate scoreline after two legs.
In the head to head stats, Onduparaka and SC Villa have met seven times since the Caterpillars were promoted. The Jog0os have claimed four wins compared to the three for the Caterpillars. SC Villa has won the past three matches including the reverse fixtures which they won 1-0 courtesy of Nicholas Kabonge’s strike.
In the other game of the day, Soltilo Bright Stars will host Mbarara City at the Kavumba Recreation centre, Wakiso.
Bright Stars are unbeaten in their last seven leagues games, garnering five wins and two draws in that period.
At home this season, they have claimed 18 points in 11 games with their last result at home being a 0-0 draw with top placed URA FC on April 24th.
That impressive form has seen them move to sixth position on the log with 34 points garnered in 22 games.
Meanwhile, their opponents Mbarara City sit 11th on the log with 26 points in 22 games and are winless in their last two games .their last league result was a 1-1 draw with BUL FC at the Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe, Jinja.
Away from home, The Ankole Lions have been terrible, winning just two of their 11 games on the road this season and claiming just 9 points in the process.
In the head to head stats, Bright Stars and Mbarara City have met each other five times with the Ankole Lions winning two compared to Bright Stars one while the other two have ended in draws.
Bright Stars won the reverse fixture early on in the season courtesy of Joseph Akwadanwaho’s strike.
Victory for Bright Stars over Mbarara City could take them to 37 points, level on points with Police FC who play KCCA on Wednesday.
While Mbarara City could move two positions up to the 9th position if they secure positive results against Mbarara and other results go their way.
The other two games on the day will see Busoga United hosts rejuvenated Wakiso Giants at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru behind closed doors while UPDF will take on troubled MYDA at the Bombo Military Playgrounds.
