Rose Akon will leave 2022 Women National Basketball Champions, UCU Lady Canons this year after a great display throughout the season.
Akon was the 2022 NBL season’s Most Valuable Player, best rebounder and second top points scorer.

This was revealed by the UCU Head coach Nicholas Natuhereza on NBS Sports’ Sport This Morning on Monday.

Rose has played in Rwanda for Reg Women BBC where she became the MVP in 2021 before joining Uganda Christian University.

This should be known this is always the policy of the University as Uganda Christian University that If a student completes her course of study they Leave and in another player.
Current JKL Dolphins player Flavia “Flirsh” Oketcho, Vilma Achieng, Point guard Rosine Micomyiza who returned to Rwanda, Arach Proscovia and Maureen Sizya are some those players who have left in the same way.
All work will be left to Head coach Natuhereza to re-organize the team for the next season.
