Noteworthy changes occurred in the leadership of the UCU Lady Cardinals, with Catherine Nakiridde assuming the captaincy from Shadia Nankya.

The game was held at a rain-soaked St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende, resulting in both teams resorting to aerial balls due to the waterlogged pitch.

Wakiso Hills, desperate for points, pressed towards the end of the first half, with the Lady Cardinals’ defenders, notably Shadia Nankya, clearing the ball frequently.

The first half concluded goalless.

However, in the 47th minute, Rashida Nankya capitalized on defensive miscommunication to score for Wakiso Hills, breaking the deadlock.

Just four minutes later, Rashida Nankya extended the lead to 2-0 following an error between UCU’s goalkeeper, Anita Akayo, and defender Phiona Atimako.

Despite UCU Lady Cardinals’ efforts to press forward, they failed to convert their chances, missing potential consolation goals in the 81st and 82nd minutes.

In a critical defensive moment, Shadia Nankya recovered possession near her team’s box and made a decisive block to prevent Rashida Nankya from scoring a third goal.

Esther Anzo had a late opportunity for the hosts in added time, but her weak shot was easily collected by UCU goalkeeper Akayo Anita.

The match concluded with a 2-0 victory for Wakiso Hills, marking only their third win in the top flight.

With this result, Wakiso Hills moved to 11 points, securing the 9th position in the league table.

UCU Lady Cardinals maintained their 5th position with 14 points.

Looking ahead, UCU Lady Cardinals will face Lady Doves in their next fixture, while Wakiso Hills will take on She Mak.
