Uganda Premier League

Preview: KCCA eager to close in on Vipers

KCCA FC will target closing in on Vipers SC’s lead at the top of the Startimes Uganda Premier league when the league resumes on Tuesday at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara.

Defending champions KCCA FC will lock horns with Brian Ssenyondo’s Mbarara City FC tomorrow in the rescheduled Matchday 10 fixture.

The title Defenders who have played 3 games less are just 8 points away from Summit leaders Vipers SC with the latter playing maximum games in first round.

Speaking after the final prep of the game in Mbarara, KCCA FC assistant head coach Moley Byekwaso affirmed his team’s zeal and desire to collect maximum points.

The team is well prepared as it has always been, we hope to win tomorrow to continue our surge to the top of the table and we will do everything possible to pick maximum points off a tough and well organised Mbarara City FC.

Said Byekwaso.

KCCA will be without star players Allan Okello and Mustafa Kizza who are out with minor knee injuries while Nicholas Kasozi is also out with Fever.

The hosts will be without shot stopper Tom Ikara who is cap-tied to play against his parent club.

The last league meeting between the two sides earlier this year ended in a barren stalemate at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara.

KCCA FC and Mbarara City FC have met 4 times in the last 2 seasons in the league with all those games ending in Stalemates.

KCCA sit 4th on the league with 26 points collected in 12 games while Mbarara City FC are 11th with 16 points garnered in 14 games.
