Bright Stars FC has today confirmed the appointment of Paul Kiwanuka as head coach at the club till the end of the season. Kiwanuka, who served Bright Stars earlier as Assistant coach to Fred Kajoba for a period of five years before being sacked replaces Muhammed Kisekka who is now head of Scouting and Youth Development.
Paul Kiwanuka will work with Mugerwa Simon Peter as his assistant while the rest of the team remains unchanged with the goalkeeping coach, Ben Karama, Team trainer, Ali Gwaita Muwaya and junior team coach Frank Mulindwa staying put.
The decision to ditch Kisekka comes as a result of a series of bad results that have seen Bright Stars collect just 10 points from 14 games, sitting in 14th place in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Kiwanuka’s first task as in charge will be a home game against fellow relegation-threatened Police FC in their matchday 15 of the league later today.
Kisekka joins a growing list of coaches relieved of their duties before the end of the 1st round, which includes; George ‘Best’ Nsimbe(Kyetume FC), Kefa Kisala(Wakiso Giants), and Paul Nkata(Mbarara City FC).
