PAU: Association launches first calendar activity

The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has launched its first activity calendar of the year 2021 ad it will be known as the Grand Pool Open.

The Grand Pool Open, which is scheduled to be held at Capital Pub, Kabalagala between 21st and 22nd March will be open to everyone who can afford a registration fee of only 30,000/= to be paid through the PAU accounts.

There will be categories for both the men and women. The winner in the men’s category will walk away with a trophy, Gold Medal and a cash prize of up to UGX. 2,000,000/= (Two Million Ugandan Shillings).

The second-placed player will receive a silver medal and UGX. 1,000,000/= (One million Ugandan Shillings) while the third-placed player in the men’s category will take a bronze medal and UGX 500,000 ( Five hundred thousand), while a cash prize of 250.000 will be awarded to the fourth-placed player.

The ladies category prizes differ a little from the men’s category as the first-placed woman will walk away with 1 million UGX, trophy and a gold medal. The second is to be awarded a medal and 500.000 UGX as the third will walk away with 250.000 UGX and a bronze medal. The fourth-placed lady is to cash up to 120.000 UGX.

Furthermore, the most excelling players of the championship will also gain seeding points.

Currently, Ibra Sejjemba of Ntinda Giants is leading the men’s seedings with 20.52 points while Chandinga Ceaser (Ronz) and Kasozi Joseph ( Ntinda Giants) occupy the second place and third places with 19.66 and 18.84 points respectively.

In the ladies seedings, Kampala Central’s Rashid Mutesi sits top with 18.48 points and she is followed by fellow teammate Zaimat Nabufu with 16.89 points while Upper Volta’s Ritah Nimusiima is third with 16.61 points.
