The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations ( CECAFA) has confirmed that nine teams will participate in the upcoming U-15 Championship in Uganda.
Hosts Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Somalia, Djibouti, South Sudan and Zanzibar are the nine member Associations that have registered their teams for the championship set to kick off on November 4th.
According to Yusuf Mossi, the CECAFA Competition Director, the group-stages draw will be conducted on October 30th, 2023.
The Championship will take place at the FUFA technical Center in Njeru from November 4-18th.
This is going to be the first CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship since 2019 when Uganda defeated Kenya in the final in Eritrea to claim the inaugural trophy.
The Uganda Rhinos are already in a residential camp at Njeru ahead of this competition.
45 players, under 15 years were summoned by head coach Hamuza Lutalo in start preparation of defending the title they won in 2019.
