FUBA NBL : Two of the most successful teams in City Oilers and Power face off.

Two basketball giants in Power and City Oilers meet in what promises to be a mouth watering contest in the NBL at Lugogo Indoor Arena, Lugogo on Friday.

City Oilers have taken the trophy seven times and will hope use their chances to win the encounter between two of the league’s most successful clubs.

The Oilers who lost to Nam Blazers in their season opener, have put together a four-game winning streak, hammering UPDF, Falcons, KCCA Panthers and Victoria University.

City Oilers look to be dominant in this Fixture having beaten Power in both games in 2018 and edging the side in their latest fixture 68-51 in last season that ended prematurely as it was halted by the Covid 19 Virus situation.

On the other side, Power who have blown hot and cold this season with five wins and losing two games in (UCU Canons and Nam Blazers) out of seven games played this campaign.

With forward Geoffrey Soro is averaging 15 points and 8 rebounds per game for Power this season, he looks to be on fire and in the Pre match interview, he came out to say that the team is prepared and hopeful that Power can get a positive result.

“The team is well prepared, everyone in the camp is ready for the challenge and we know it’s a big game that will show our character as a team.”

When asked about the rivalry between the two giants, he added;
“I wouldn’t really call it a rivalry but they’re the defending champions and obviously we would want to play and try to win the game coz it will give us the motivation moving forward in the season.”

Talking to Coach Bernis Ankunda about the shape of his team he came out to say that ;

“The journey has been good, we are enjoying playing with each other and the future looks bright, we have players who we expect to join the team in second round so I know they will boost the teams performance.”
