cTracy Namugosa says her four individual awards are a reward for the hard work she put in during the season, despite KCCA Leopards falling short of their target.
Namugosa was named Women National Basketball League Regular Season MVP, Top Scorer and Best Three Point Shooter, while also earning a place on the Team of the Season.
The KCCA forward was one of the Leopards’ most consistent players, contributing at both ends of the court. Her form often influenced the team’s results.
KCCA had hoped to reach the finals but settled for a semi final appearance.
“That was a good one for the team because this year our goal was the finals, unfortunately we didn’t make it but at least we reached the semi finals because everyone was looking down on us but after reaching the semi-finals at least people started looking at us as good players,” Namugosa said.
On her individual success, Namugosa was proud of the recognition.
“For as a player winning these awards; Regular Season MVP, Top Scorer, Best 3-point shooter and Team of the season, I feel so impressed, am super proud of myself, I worked hard for all these and it’s worth the input,” she said.
Namugosa was joined on the Team of the Season by Daphine Adong, Keturah Joy Auma, Sarah Ageno and Martina Anyango.
Minutes after winning the National Basketball League with UCU Lady Canons, Anyango was named Playoffs MVP after averaging 16.3 points, 13.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in nine games. She posted seven double doubles and scored 20 or more points three times.
