Mukwala nets haul as URA thrash Tooro United

URA FC thrashed Tooro United by six goals to one in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening at Arena of Visions.

Sam Timbe’s boys didn’t take long to make their marks on the game with goals coming from Steven Mukwala, Joackim Ojera and Cromwell Rwothomoi , leaving URA 4-0 up by halftime.

The second half saw Mukwala netting two more goals, taking the URA to 7 points garnered in 4 games.

It was Mukwala who opened up the scoring in the 23rd minute for the Tax Collectors, flicking in a Saidi Kyeyune shot past Tooro United keeper Simon Mbuya.

Seven minutes later, Mukwala got his second of the game as he rose high to head home a well driven Moses Sseruyinde corner kick to put URA 2-0 in the lead.

Few minutes later, it was Ojera’s turn to make it onto the scoresheet as he controlled a long Hannington Ssebwalunyo to energytically beat off his marker and shot past Mbuya into the back of the net.

Cromwell then also got onto the scoresheet in the 39th minute after combining well with Mukwala to take his side 4-0 up.

Mukwala would have gotten his hat-trick before the break but his header was flagged off for offside.

The first half in general saw Tax Collectors dominating most of the proceedings.

Just after the break, Mukwala and Cromwell nearly paired up to make it 5-0, but Mukwala drove the ball slightly off target.

Mark Nsubuga pulled a goal back for Tooro United in the 52nd minute with arguably their first real chance on target.

Mukwala completed his hat-trick in the 56 minute after he receiving the ball from Derrick Ndahiro to strike from outside the box into the back of the net.

At the hour mark, Mukwala got his fourth of the game, capitalizing on poor defending to put URA 6-1 ahead.

With the Tax Collectors in commanding lead, Simeone Masaba withdrew all Mukwala, Rwothomoi and Ojera to give minutes to Vianne Ssekajungo and Kabon Living.

With the victory, URA move up to ninth on the log standings with 7 points in 4 games. They will play Vipers next on Saturday.

While Tooro who remain 14th on the log will play Soltilo Bright Stars next.
