The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the officials who will be in charge of the CAF Champions League preliminary round match between Ugandan side, Vipers SC and Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman slated for the 28th November at St Mary’s Stadium kitende.
The development marks the return of Somali referee Hassan Mohamed Hagi to Uganda as the match referee having last been in the country for the CAF Champions League Group A tie between KCCA FC and Nigeria‘s Rivers United on June 3, 2017.
Mohamed Hagi will be assisted by fellow country men Hamza Hagi Abdi and Sulaiman Bashir Sh.Abdi as the first and second assistant referees respectively. Omar Abdukadir Artan will be the fourth official selected for the game whereas David Gikonyo Mwangi has been selected as the match commissar.
The return leg f this fixture will be played on December 6th in Omdurman Sudan and the winner from the two legs will face the winner from Nouadhibou of Mauritania and Asante Kotoko of Ghana in the first round of the CAF champions league.
This is the second time Vipers SC is facing a club from Sudan having eliminated Al Merriekh in a 2-2 aggregate score in the 2018’s CAF Champions League.
