The second-leg FUFA Super 8 fixture between Maroons FC and SC Villa has been postponed following the death of SC Villa captain David Owori.

FUFA announced the postponement on Thursday, with the match, which had been scheduled for Friday, now set to be played on a date to be communicated later.

Owori, the SC Villa captain, passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained during a violent attack by unidentified assailants in Kampala. His death has sent shockwaves across the Ugandan football fraternity, with tributes continuing to pour in from clubs, players, fans and football administrators.

The postponement means both teams will have to wait longer to determine who progresses from the first-round tie after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.

FUFA is expected to announce a new date for the fixture after consultations with both clubs.
