After the official communication by Mandela National stadium management that the stadium will be out of use for the next two weeks.

SC Villa finally the alternative licensed ground that will host their match against URA FC on Friday as per the FUFA club licensing committee guidelines.

Maroons FC’s Luzira Prison ground will host the game that will be televised live on Sanyuka TV on Friday at 4 pm.

SC Villa CEO Shawn Mubiru says the Club (SC Villa) had earlier requested to host its game at the Startimes stadium Lugogo but was turned down by the management of KCCA FC despite the facility not having any activities on the said date.

I made a decision to engage KCCA FC who are playing CAF this weekend away from home to give us access to their stadium and was ready to negotiate at a fee of UGX. 4 million.

Shawn said.

However, a KCCA FC Official called me an hour later rescinding the earlier decision with a reason that the Authority (KCCA) will be having the EAC games’ launch on the same day. I did my checks and found out that this was not true”

He added.

However, Maroons football Club later granted them access to their stadium, but with caution to protect the Club facilities and infrastructure during the match.

Here’s the letter granting SC Villa access to the Luzira Prison Grounds.

It should be noted that SC Villa has been under fire with rowdy fans. Last season the Club was docked points and just survived relegation to play in this season’s Uganda Premier League.

We are still not certain why KCCA FC denied them access to the StarTimes Stadium.
