ICC Challenge League B: Brilliant Ssesazi bats Uganda past Kenya

Batsman Simon Ssesazi was the star man as Cricket Cranes beat Kenya in their last game of the second round of ongoing ICC Challenge League B tournament in Kampala.

The man of the match hit 87 runs off 112 ball not out as Uganda chased down Kenya’s 220 just into the 45th over to win by 7 wickets.

But this win was built on great bowling and batting display from the Cranes. Cosmas Kyewuta and Riyazat Ali Shah both bagged three wickets to led to Kenya’s collapse at 220 all out with 17 balls unused.

Apart from Ssesazi’s 87 runs, Ronak Patel and Dinesh Kumar Nakrani posted 50 and 55 runs respectively to lift Uganda to the finish line.

With the victory, Uganda finish the second round of the Challenge League B tournament with three wins in 5 games and head into the third and final round in Jersey top of log with 16 points.

Jersey are currently second on the log with 14 points after beating Bermuda by 291 runs in the other game played on Sunday.

The top team after the third round will advance to the next qualifier of the 2023 ICC World Cup.
