Kamiyat Naigaga scored her second of the season as she helped rejuvenated Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC pick up maximum points as they edged Olila High at the Soroti City Stadium – Soroti on Saturday evening.
The newly promoted Ladies continued to anonuce their fight to keep in the top division with the 1-0 much wanted victory. This meant that they completed a double over the Soroti side.
Kamiyat’s goal came five minutes past the second half (50th minute) after a well looped ball over the Olila backline by Sarah Nakuya to meet the pacy forward.
In a game that had limited chances, Olila didn’t have alot of chances to grab a goal on the day thanks to Asubo’s Shakirah Nagudi, new signing Fatuma Nakasumba and Adrian Musimenta who put up a good display.
In the last four games played, Asubo have won three and lost one only to moved to 9th position on the log with a point above fellow new league entrant, Makerere University.
Asubo will play their next game at home as they welcome Hoima side Lady Doves at the Kampala Quality play ground.
PIIIn the other games of match day 13, Shamirah Nalugya scored Kampala Queens’ only goal to secure maximum points away in Rubaga against resilient Uganda Martyrs.
For Makerere University WFC conceded their 8th deficit of the campaign after losing 2-0 away to Kawempe Muslim with goals coming in from Agnes Nabukenya and on Shakira Nyinagahirwa.
In Masindi, Lady doves and Rines SS settled for a one all draw after two first half goals from Arachi Phiona for Rines SS and Sumaya Nsisi for Lady doves.
In the last game of the day, She Corporate continued to lose their seventh (7th) of the season by a goal away at the UCU grounds in Mukono.
After Match day 13 both the new entrants stay bottom in the relegation zone as Kampala Queens look for only two points to seal the trophy.
