The FUFA Super eight is back after three years and is set to test last season’s top eight teams from the Uganda Premier League.
Like before there will be a trophy to be fought for as the UPL Champions of Vipers will visit Eastern Giants BUL as first time winners of the tournament KCCA FC will also be away to Wakiso Giants.
Others games will see SC Villa Jogoo play host to Luzira’s Maroons as URA host Arua Hill.
The format of play will see this year’s kick-off ( Quaterfinal stage) be played over one leg with penalties Incase of a draw.
For those on the losing end, they will play classification games to see who takes up the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th position.
During the draws FUFA EXCO Member Rogers Byamukama came out to affirm that each team in the tournament will play three games;
“Each of the 8 teams taking part in this year’s Super 8 Tournament will be guaranteed to play three games including classification matches.
This serves as good preparation for teams before the start of the new season.”
The last edition of the Super 8 was won by the current UPL champions, Vipers after edged KCCA FC 2-1 in 2019 and will hope they can retain their title.
