The She Cranes will kick start their 2023 Netball World Cup campaign on Friday at the International Conventional Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
Uganda will play their first game against SingaPore at mid day who play their seventh Netball World Cup.
This will be the fourth time the She Cranes are play in the Global tournament.
The previous appearances;
- 1979 (Port of Spain)
- 2015 (Sydney)
- 2019 (Liverpool)
In the last edition of 2019 in Liverpool, the She Cranes finished 7th and due to the different tournaments played well, Uganda was ranked 6th in the World Rankings as per 12th August 2022.
Therefore this is the main reason why the She Cranes automatically qualified to the event in South Africa.
The She Cranes who are coached by Frank Mugerwa has been well prepared both at home and away having had a number of friendly games against the Men’s National team at home and then away in South Africa against Barbados (54-33) and Scotland (53-47).
