The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has today Wednesday 2nd October 2019 announced a decision to postpone the NBL semi -final and finals to November.

The semi finals and finals playoffs were scheduled to take place starting on October 4th.

Reasons for the postponement are Ugandan teams and players involvement in various international activities in the different playoffs matchups.

The activities include the world Beach Games (men And Women) scheduled October 12th -16th in Doha ,Qatar with City Oilers players( Ivan Muhwezi and Tonny Drileba) and one UCU Canons player (Fayed Bbale) in involvement for the men and UCU Lady Canons (Sarah Ageno and Abey Priscilla) & JKL’s Ritah Imanishimwe for the women.

City Oilers also have the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Qualifiers slated for October 15th-20th in Dar el Salam, Tanzania.

JKL Lady Dolphins will be travelling to Dar el Salam for the Women’s Zone 5 tournament that runs from October 21st-26th.

UCU has 2 teams at 3X3 University World Championship scheduled to take place between October 28th and November 5th 2019

Uganda will then host the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup between November 7thand 11th in Kampala.

15th November has been set by FUBA as the realist date for the start of the semi final Playoffs given the Uganda teams and players involvement in the above tournament.

Due to tight Schedule ,FUBA president Nasser Sserunjogi revealed that it would be very hard to have consistent NBL
games before November 15th hence the need for postponement.

Lady Defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins will entertain KIU Rangers when the playoff commence in November before UCU Canons face Betway Power in the last game of the night that day.
