Vipers SC got back to winning ways on Wednesday evening as they thrashed Maroons FC at the St.Marys Stadium, Kitende. Goals from Allan Kayiwa, Brain Nkuubi, Milton Karisa, Paul Muccurezi and Abraham Ndugwa were enough to propel the venoms to a well deserved 5-0 victory in Kitende.
Much was made of the Venoms after their devastated 3-1 away league loss to URA last week so the pressure was already on Vipers to respond. And they did just that in style, Kayiwa gave the venoms the lead just before halftime when he met Karisa’s well laid cross to put the ball into the back of the net
Brain Nkuubi had a chance to double the venoms lead but the Midfielder shockingly missed a sitter with Maroon’s defence well beaten.
Moments later, Brain Nkuubi made up for numerous missed chances as he beautifully headed home off an innocent Wafula cross to double the venoms lead early in the second half
In the 63rd minute, having been so lively in the most part of the game,Forward Karisa got his first Venom’s goal since his return when he placed the ball into the back of net after a well calculated Nkuubi ball
Coach Fred Kajoba made his first change of the game as he bought in Paul Muccurezi for Milton Karisa in the 65th minute, and the flying winger stretched Vipers lead to 4 goals when he added past goalie Akol off a Aziz Kayondo well curled cross.
Abraham Ndugwa replaced Allan Kayiwa in the 76th minute and Ndugwa also got to score sheet with his first touch of the game to take the scores at 5-0 with 11 minutes to the end of the game.
The Venoms stay top on 53 points, 4 above second placed KCCA who also won 1-0 against Police at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo courtesy of Albert Achai’s first half strike.
