FIBAWCQ: Arthur Kaluma left out of Silverbacks squad to Ivory Coast

Arthur Kaluma will not in the Uganda Men’s National Basketball team, (the Silverbacks) squad Abidjan, Ivory Coast for the second round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

The Creighton University forward who is nursing an injury has been Uganda’s best player in the previous qualifier rounds averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Arthur has been replaced by UCU Canons’ Titus Lual Odeke who put up an average of 9 points and 10 rebounds in the National Basketball League regular season. Lual 23, didn’t play at the previous window in Kigali and is the only change in the travelling team.

Uganda who are in Group E that will play Angola on Friday, Cote D’Ivoire on Saturday and Guinea on Sunday.

The local players and coaches are set to fly out to Ivory Coast on Wednesday while the foreign based delegation started travelling on Tuesday.

With twelve (12) teams set to play, the Silverback will be looking out for that one spot out of the available five of the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia, Japan and Phillipines.
