Cranes forward Fahad Aziz Bayo came off the bench to net the equaliser for Ashdod SC as they drew 1-1 with Happoel Hadera in an Israeli Premier League game played at the Yud Alef Stadium on Monday evening.
Bayo, who started on the bench was introduced on at the start of the second half, replacing Stav Torial and five minutes from time, the former Vipers striker netted the equaliser off a well-driven cross from Oz Bilu.
Hapoel had taken the lead in the 12th minute of the game when Liran Rotman put the ball rolling past Yoav Gerafi in the Ashdod goal, but before halftime, they were reduced to 10 men after Diaa Lababidi was given marching orders for a second bookable offence.
Ashdod also finished the game a man less after Shlomy Yosef Azulay got his second booking of the game in the added minutes of the second half.
Today’s goal takes Bayo’s tally to five goals garnered in his 22 appearances with the Port City club.
Ashdod has now sealed a playoff place as they sit third on the log with 39 points from the 24 games they have played so far.
