After missing out on how Ugandan players abroad fared due to the internet shutdown that was instituted by the government during the electoral process, this week we return with our diaspora article were we get to find out how our players fared over the weekend.

Richard Kasagga netted his maiden goal in the Indian I. League as Edrisa Lubega and Kizito Luwagga got their scoring shoes back on. This is how Ugandan professionals abroad fared over the weekend.

Starting off in India, Richard Kasagga netted his Maiden goal for Aizawl FC as they were held to a 1-all draw by Indian Arrows FC in the Indian I. league.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya, who is still recovering from injury was still absent from the Matchday squad as his side, Konyaspor and Antalyaspor played out to a goalless draw in the Turkish Super Ligue.

In Estonia, Edrisa Lubega came off the bench at halftime and was involved in two goals as his Paide Linnameskond thrashed Tartu Tameeka 7-0 in the Estonian Football Winter tournament. Lubega assisted Luts for Paide’s 5th in the 74th minute before getting his name on the scoresheet in the 82nd minute.

In Spain, Ronald Mukiibi started while Isaak Ssewankambo came off the bench as their side, Ostersunds FK suffered a 1-0 loss to FC Rostov in a club-friendly at Estadio Municipal de Marbella.

In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi started and featured full-time as Motherwell FC endured a 2-0 loss to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo started and played 62 minutes as his side, Odense Boldkub cruised to a 4-1 win over Esbjerg fB in a test match

In England, Jayden Onen was an unused substitute as his side, Reading FC and Preston North End played out to a goalless stalemate in the English Championship.

Jordan Obita came on in the 75th minutes and helped Oxford FC to a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers in the English Football league one.

In the Football League two, Elvis Bwomono started and came off at the halftime break due to an injury as his side, Southend United suffered a 1-0 loss to Mansfield Town.

In Israel, Fahad Bayo started and was subbed off after 74 minutes while Timothy Awanyi played full-time as their Ashdod SC side lost 2-1 away from home to M. Petach-Tikva in the Israel Premier League.

Still in the Israel Premier League, Luwagga Kizito was on target for Hapoel Kfar Saba as they claimed a 3-1 win over Bnei Yehuda.

In Algeria, Allan Okello was in action as his side, Paradou AC claimed a convincing 3-0 win over JSM Skikda in  Algerian Ligue 1.

In South Africa, Denis Onyango started in goal as Mamelodi Sundowns played out to a 1-all draw with Moroka Swallows in the DStv Premiership.

Still in the DSTV Premiership, Moses Ndondhi Waiswa was introduced on in the 84th minute as his side, Supersports United FC claimed a 2-0 win over TTM.

In Egypt, Derrick Nsibambi was an unused substitute as Smouha SC drew 1-all with Abdul Lumala’s Pyramid FC in the Egyptian Premier League

Allan Kyambadde was introduced in the 61st minutes for El Gouna as they claimed a 2-1 win over Wadi Degla.

In Zambia, Shafik Batambuze made his debut as his new side, Kabwe Warriors claimed a 1-0 win over Kitwe United in the MTN/FAZ Super división.

In Malta, Erisa Ssekisambu didn’t make the matchday squad as Tarxien Rainbow endured a 2-0 loss to Gzira in the Maltese Premier League.
