The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed new dates for the remaining 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

According to CAF’s new communication, Match day 3 and 4 of the qualifiers will take place between 20th and 28th March 2023, Match day 5 will be between 12th and 20th June, 2023 while the qualifiers will climax with a Matchday 6 between 4th and 12th September, 2023.

The 17th edition of the continental championship, AFCON 2023, was originally scheduled to take place next summer in the Ivory Coast.

But due to heavy floods expected in the west Africa country at that time of year (June – July), CAF was forced to move the tournament to January and February 2024.

Uganda is pitted in group F and currently sits bottom of the log with just a single point garnered in two games. They lost 2-0 to Algeria in their opener before drawing 1-all with Niger at home.
