Express FC head coach Morley Byekwaso is targeting maximum points when his side hosts UPDF FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Thursday afternoon.
The Red Eagles are seeking their first victory since a 2-0 triumph over rivals KCCA FC on matchday two, but Byekwaso expects a tough test against an army side that has collected five points, level with Express, and sits higher in the standings with a game in hand.
“UPDF are no pushovers. They have quality players and a good coach, so we must stay focused, respect them and fight for all three points,” Byekwaso said.

Express will hope to capitalise on home advantage to return to winning ways after a demanding start to the campaign that has seen them face several of the league’s top sides.
Byekwaso has confirmed that most of his squad is fit and available for selection, with defender Shafik Batambuze the only doubt as he continues his recovery from injury. Batambuze has returned to training, but the medical team will assess his condition before a final decision is made.
The coach has also called on Express supporters to turn up in large numbers, praising their backing during the opening five matches and urging them to continue playing their role as the team’s 12th player.
With both sides level on points, Express will be eager to secure victory and improve their position, while UPDF will be determined to maintain their advantage in the standings.
