Brian Aheebwa: Why KCCA FC will hit jackpot if they can get Mbarara City striker

Brian Ahebwa -

» Geoffrey Wasswa: Defender ready to renew with Vipers SC on one condition

Born in 1999, the Mbarara City FC forward, Brian Ahebwa is set to make history if his estranged transfer goes through this transfer window. Remember, Lugogo has been trying to clinch the player since last season but with no success.

While rumors speculate that Ahebwa has the chance of joining either Vipers or KCCA FC, we can see him going to Lugogo after all. Here are the reasons why KCCA will hit the jackpot by getting Aheebwa during this transfer window.

He is more productive than any KCCA FC forwards

Brian Aheebwa has had a splendid 2019/20 season in the Startimes Uganda Premier League scoring a total of 8 goals for his side Mbarara City and indeed he’s been the jack of all trades, scoring 3 goals in the Stanbic Uganda Cup and 3 in the Pilsner Super 8. Statistically, this puts him ahead of Mike Mutyaba, Sadat Anaku, Erisa Ssekisambu, and Sam Ssenyonjo.

He is young

So, Aheebwa is younger than most of KCCA’s forwards and he has outperformed them this season. At 21, He is the leading goal sensation compared to all KCCA’s forwards in the 2019/20 season. What do you think will be his performance in the next four years or so?

The western Uganda breed is yet to reach the peak of his playing ability. We are going to see his full potential as a forward when he lands at Lugogo under Mike Mutebi.

KCCA needs a marksman

After losing Patrick Kaddu to Morocco’s RS Berkane, with no doubt, the club has struggled to fill the void left by Kaddu with all his replacements failing to make the grade. Sadat Anaku, Sam Ssenyonjo have all been tried in this position but all have not been consistent.

Indeed, Brian Ahebwa is the only perfect candidate to fill the void with his aggressiveness in front of the goal, and with his goal sense, he’s obviously the man to execute the job.

He is up for grabs

Ahebwa’s contract with Mbarara City expired at the end of the season. Several UPL clubs including Vipers SC, KCCA FC, and Onduparaka FC have been monitoring his contract for several months. Who would let go of a precious deal like signing Ahebwa? Well, even Mbarara City have been working tirelessly to renew terms with their all-time leading top scorer.

And since not every club can accept his contractual demands, they are looking for players who resemble his abilities. What can you tell a player who is a hot discussion in almost every Football Club’s boardroom?

Therefore, no matter the terms, Ahebwa is a hot transfer for KCCA. The Lugogo based side will go all lengths to see the player on their training grounds this transfer window.

He remains the only player to bridge the gap between the KCCA FC side that won the 2018/19 StarTimes UPL season and the one that struggled just to catch up with Vipers last season.

Indeed, KCCA FC will hit a jackpot should they manage to sign the forward. Hopefully, it will happen because they are just a step away.
