Mbarara City and Vipers SC settled for a goalless draw after ninety minutes on Tuesday evening at Bombo Barracks Play ground in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match day 19 encounter.
Mbarara City made the first charge at the goal in 2nd minute but Solomon Okwalinga’s low closs was cleared away by Vipers Ibrahim Tembo for a corner.
Paul Mucureezi long shot went wide after a well built up from Karim Watambala and Bobos Byaruhaga in the 20th minute.
The Ankole Lions made another attack through Solomon Okwalinga when he cut in from the edge of the box but his cross could not meet his target man before it was cleared away by the Vipers skipper Geoffrey Wasswa in the 26th minute
Vipers could have gone ahead in the 31st minute but Bobosi Byaruhanga’s long rage shot was well saved by the Mbarara city custodian Tomas Ikara.
Paul Willa almost put the Venoms in the lead with five minutes to the break but his header went well wide after a well calculated Bobosi Byaruhaga corner.
The first caution of the game went to Mbarara City’s Pistis baregye after a reckless foul on Paul Mucurezi in the 40th minute before Vipers Aziz Kayondo was also cautioned for a foul on Bebe Swalik in the 42nd minute.
Vipers were awarded a controversial free kick in the 50th minute but Karim Watambala’s effort hit the great wall of Ankole Lions.
The Venoms made the first change of the game bringing on Tito okello for Aziz kayondo in the 53rd minute.
Frank Tumwesinge and Dan Sserunkuma also replaced Amayo and Fahad Bayo respectively in the 68th minute.
Solomon Okwalinga’s shot was well saved by Vipers SC custodian Fabian Mutombora in the 80th minute to deny the Ankole lions a chance to go ahead later on in the game.

The Venoms are still atop of the SUPL log with 43 points garnered in 19 games while the Ankole lions have moved from 10th to 8th on the log aftering collecting 23 points in 19 games
Vipers will host Onduparaka FC on Sunday 2nd February 2020 while Mbarara City will visit Express FC on Saturday, 1st February .
